How to Buy a Domain Name (Part 2)
Setting up a Web site with your own domain name is a pretty easy and straightforward process. Anyone can do it! In this video, you can peek over my shoulders as I show you EXACTLY how to register and buy a new domain name and in the following videos, I’ll show you how to connect your new domain name to a website.

Here are the steps in a nutshell:
- Pick a Domain Name Registrar (e.g. GoDaddy.com)
- Choose a Good Domain Name
a. Keep it Short
b. Make it Memorable
c. Make sure it’s easy to say vocally (e.g. pretend you’re on the phone)
Other Suggestions:
Make a list of possible names before visiting the registration site.
Keep in mind, most names are already taken, so the more unusual the name, the more likely it will be available.
